Jeff Foxworthy

Guest shark

Jeff Foxworthy is one of the best-selling comedy recording artists of all time. Over 28 million albums sold. If you’ve ever heard someone say “you might be a redneck if…” that’s him. He turned a comedy bit into a cultural phenomenon and then built a whole career around it.

He grew up in Atlanta and actually went to Georgia Tech for industrial engineering. Worked as an engineer for a while too before realizing he’d rather make people laugh. He started doing stand-up in the early 80s and climbed fast. The “redneck” material connected with a huge audience and it wasn’t mean-spirited humor, it was more like a guy poking fun at himself and his people. That’s why it worked.

Beyond stand-up, he’s done TV shows, hosted Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, been part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall, and Ron White, and written a bunch of books. The “You Might Be a Redneck If…” series alone has sold millions of copies.

On Shark Tank he shows up as a guest shark and he’s honestly a breath of fresh air on the panel. He’s not a tech investor or a Wall Street guy. He’s someone who built a massive entertainment brand through touring, merchandise, and understanding his audience deeply. That’s a different kind of business intelligence and it shows when he’s evaluating pitches.
